The first season scientists observed in Reaganland was what they called Whirlwindy. For one week, the wind blew all the time, there was never a moment of stillness. Winds ranged in speed from 5 to 30 mph. Thankfully, the temperatures were in the mid eighties all week so the wind did not seem too cool. This song describes some of what the scientists experienced.
The second season they called Just Chill. This was the coldest season in Reaganland. Temperatures never got above 55 degrees Fahrenheit during Just Chill week, and the low was 33. It snowed once, late in the evening, but the ground was so warm that it melted right away.
The third season was the most pleasant, so the scientists called it Fine and Dandy. Temperatures averaged 75 in the day time and 60 at night. The sky was partly cloudy to mostly sunny every day that week. The scientists hoped that Fine and Dandy would be a season that lasted longer than one week, but it did not stay.
The fourth season in the cycle was called Drizzly Dampish. The sky clouded up, and it began to rain. It rained lightly, moderately, or with a drenching downpour the whole week! Being a hilly island, however, there was no flooding. The scientists were very thankful for that! Temperatures were moderate in the lower sixties, but it felt chilly due to the dampness.
The fifth week that the scientists were there they expected to experience another, different weather pattern. However, they noticed that it was once again warm and windy. Hmmm...they wondered what would happen the sixth week. Well, it was very chilly again. The scientists hypothesize that the weather continues this four week cycle year round.
After getting this news, land developers are already beginning to create plans for resorts and plan to capitalize on the unique weather of Reaganland. Look for more news and any breaking updates right here on this blog!
This sounds like an awesome place to be! I would love to visit the resorts on Reaganland, and can't wait to see the plans! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about the different types of weather. Would love to visit the resorts when they are built.
ReplyDeleteFine and Dandy! I would LOVE to have that type of weather 10 months out of the year here in Kentucky. Probably need one month of cold and one month of hot to keep me thankful!
